What we did this weekend

Isaiah, Elijah and Mama went to the farm for the weekend! We spent much of Saturday pickling carrots... mmmm! Flashback to my childhood, when my sister and I would argue over the few precious carrots in a jar of mom's pickles.

Isaiah got to ride the 3-wheeler all by himself for the very first time. He has to drive only in 1st gear for now, which is fast enough. He buzzed around the yard at a good enough pace for a 7 yr old. He also helped Grandpa with barbed wire. They burned some stuff out by the sleugh. Isaiah says that Grandpa almost started a grass fire but they kept it under control!

Elijah had a great time outside also. He loves Grandpa's COWS. Cows by the way, according to Elijah, say "Boooo". He got a slow ride on the 3-wheeler from Nana!

Grandpa Walt came out for a few hours on Saturday, and we all had supper together. Nana's good meatloaf, followed by a dessert of rhubarb crisp with ice cream. Isaiah thinks it may have been apple rhubarb crisp?

Nana made Swedish Pancakes (the grandkids' favorite!) on Sunday morning, and also a quick batch of popcorn balls right before we left. We had a great weekend!
Isaiah chose the picture for this post. It is Elijah at the Pumpkin Patch a few weeks ago. :-) He liked the tiny bridge.
