Elijah had his 18 mth checkup today. Where does time go!??? He had four shots and is hitting the milestones developmentally. They ask all sorts of blah things like "Can he climb stairs holding your hand?" and "Can he say 5-10 words?". (Yes, and he can sign that many too!). I did see him with a few other toddlers in the waiting room - the other kids were repeating what their mothers said (Up Up Up, Thank you, etc). Elijah doesn't repeat much of anything. Too much a mind of his own to take time for repetition. At that moment I thought he was really behind. The other toddlers were saying thank you and up up up, and he was calling everything in sight a "baby"!
He has not gained much weight at all in the last six months. Still 21 lbs and a few odd ounces. He is in the 25th percentile for his height, and the 5th percentile for his weight! A peanut! They're not worried that he's undernourished, because he is clearly well fed and happy. As long as he is growing healthy, I'm ok with him being a little one for now because I don't want him to grow up so fast!
